Michael P. Silverstein, M.D. graduated from Brandeis University in 2000 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Neuroscience and Psychology.  He then attended medical school at Robert Wood Johnson Medical School in New Jersey.  After graduating medical school in 2004, he completed his internal medicine internship and neurology residency training at Rush University Medical Center in Chicago.  His training then continued at New York University's Comprehensive Epilepsy Center, where he completed his Epilepsy/EEG fellowship in 2009.  Upon completion of his fellowship, he joined Hackensack Neurology Group.  He is licensed to practice medicine in the state of New Jersey, and is board certified in Neurology by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology.


Dr. Silverstein maintains an active general neurology practice with a particular interest in epilepsy.  He performs long term EEG monitoring both in the hospital and in the outpatient settings.  Additionally, Dr. Silverstein performs therapeutic Botox injections for the treatment of chronic migraine headaches.


Dr. Silverstein has been an invited guest lecturer on topics including stroke, epilepsy, neurovascular disease, and ethical dilemmas related to neurologic illness.  He maintains an active involvement with Hackensack University Medical Center, both clinically and in a teaching role with medical students and residents.
